๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ Road Survey

0/5 steps
STEP 1

Define Centerline

STEP 1 โ€” DEFINE CENTERLINE
Establish the road centreline.

In METARDU:
โ†’ Create points along proposed road
โ†’ These define the centerline alignment

Or:
โ€ข Pick up from CAD design
โ€ข Stake from existing control
STEP 2

Create Alignment

STEP 2 โ€” CREATE ALIGNMENT
Build the road alignment in METARDU.

In METARDU:
โ†’ Go to Profiles in your project
โ†’ Create new alignment
โ†’ Select centerline points in order

Chainage will be computed automatically.
STEP 3

Profile Observations

STEP 3 โ€” TAKE PROFILE OBSERVATIONS
Collect elevation along centerline.

At each chainage station:
1. Set up level or total station
2. Take centerline elevation
3. Take left offset + elevation
4. Take right offset + elevation

Record systematically.
STEP 4

Enter Cross Sections

STEP 4 โ€” ENTER IN METARDU
Input cross-section data.

In METARDU Profiles:
โ†’ Select chainage station
โ†’ Add left offset + elevation
โ†’ Add center elevation
โ†’ Add right offset + elevation

Repeat for all stations.
STEP 5

Generate Outputs

STEP 5 โ€” GENERATE PROFILE
Create longitudinal profile and sections.

In METARDU:
โ†’ View Longitudinal Profile
โ†’ Export profile as image

For design:
โ€ข Export to CAD or Civil 3D
โ€ข Calculate cut/fill volumes
โ€ข Generate design grades
